2. Overview
This privacy policy tells you which personal data is processed when you use the "E-Connect24" app, for what purposes, and what rights you have. The legal bases follow from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
3. Data processed
3.1 Account data
- Customers: name, email address, and where applicable a profile picture — when signing in with Google Sign-In or "Sign in with Apple", we receive this data from the respective provider (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
- Electricians: name, company name, email, phone number, business address, specialisations, service radius (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
3.2 Verification documents (electricians only)
To verify professional qualifications, electricians upload documents (e.g. trade licence, master craftsman certificate). These are processed exclusively for verification by our admin team (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR — ensuring platform quality).
3.3 Job and location data
When a job request is created, the title, description, category, address, and geo-coordinates of the site are processed in order to identify suitable electricians nearby (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
Electricians may share their location to see jobs near them; sharing your location is voluntary and can be revoked in your device settings (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
3.4 Messages (chat)
Messages between customers, electricians, and support are processed and stored to enable communication via the platform. Messages may be checked automatically for the sharing of contact details in order to prevent platform circumvention (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR).
3.5 Subscription and payment data (electricians only)
Paid subscriptions are processed via the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive no payment data (no credit card numbers or similar), only a purchase confirmation (transaction ID, product, expiry date), which we verify server-side and store in order to activate the subscription (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Apple's and Google's privacy policies apply to payment processing.
3.6 Push notifications
With your consent, we send push notifications (e.g. new jobs, quotes, messages) via Firebase Cloud Messaging. A device token is processed for this purpose. Consent can be withdrawn at any time in your device settings (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
3.7 Crash and usage data
To keep the App stable, we use Firebase Crashlytics. In the event of a crash, technical data (device model, operating system version, crash log) is transmitted (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — interest in a functioning app).
4. Recipients and processors
Data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR are in place with these processors.
- Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC (Firebase): authentication, chat messages (Cloud Firestore), push notifications (Cloud Messaging), crash reports (Crashlytics). Transfer to the USA is possible; it takes place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.
- Supabase Inc.: database and storage services. Data is hosted in the Frankfurt am Main (Germany) region.
- Apple Inc. / Google LLC: processing of in-app purchases via the respective stores.
5. Visibility of data to other users
- Customers see the following about electricians: name/company name, profile picture, ratings, specialisations, and quote details.
- Electricians initially see only anonymised job data about customers (first name/initials, job description, location). Phone numbers and full contact details only become visible once a quote has been accepted.
6. Retention period
We store personal data for as long as your account exists. After the account is deleted, the data is erased unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. under tax or commercial law, up to 10 years) apply. Verification documents of rejected or deleted accounts are erased as soon as the purpose no longer applies.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20)
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))
- Complaint to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77) — e.g. the state data protection authority responsible for your place of residence
8. Data security
All data transfers are encrypted (TLS). Access to the database is restricted by server-side access rules (row level security), so that users can only access the data intended for them.
9. Minors
The App is not directed at persons under 18 years of age.
10. Changes to this privacy policy
We update this privacy policy when the App or the legal situation changes. The current version is available in the App and at this address.
